Tuesday marks the thirteenth day that Danelo Cavalcante has evaded capture, and police briefed the public after Cavalcante broked into a resident's home and stole a firearm overnight.

Officials say the convicted murderer is armed with a rifle with a scope and light and was last seen in South Coventry Township, Chester County, early Tuesday morning, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Police received a call after Cavalcante broke into a residence and stole a .22 caliber rifle.

Officials say that they believe Cavalcante broke in to the house believing no one to be home, and when he was confronted by the homeowner, he took the firearm and ran.

When Cavalcante was running from the home, he fired shots back towards the residence, according to police.

Officials say they sent a reverse-911 to residents in the 3-mile-area, who were urged to lock all doors and windows and secure their vehicles. Schools in the area were also alerted, and many have locked down as a result of the escaped inmate.

Officials also reports that they tracked prints from his work boots and ultimately found them abandoned along with his t-shirt, leading them to believe Cavalcante has changed out of his shoes and possibly his clothes.

Reward for the capture of the Chester County inmate is $25,000.
