Looks like The Bold and the Beautiful is setting up a most unhappy New Year for one character!
At the moment, everything’s coming up roses for Thomas. He’s finally back in the good graces of his family. He’s sleeping with the onetime object of his obsession Hope. And everybody seems to have forgotten about his love affair with a mannequin. But…
Oh yes, there’s a “but.” That could all change on Thursday, December 28, when Adain Bradley reprises his role of Xander Avant. You’ll recall that Maya’s cousin and then-girlfriend Zoe got mixed up with Reese’s diabolical plot to let Hope believe that her baby had died so that he could sell Beth to an unwitting Steffy. When Thomas found out that the couple knew, he strong-armed them into silence in order to keep Hope’s marriage to Liam in the grave.
Not a good look for the designer, even he admits now.
By and by, Xander’s ex Emma Barber — the niece of Bill’s formerly-trusted, now MIA associate Justin — overheard an incriminating conversation and raced to inform Hope that she could stop grieving. Determined to stop her, as the truth would set Hope free (of him!), Thomas gave chase. In fact, he gave such intense chase that Emma ran off the road. In response, Thomas…
Oof. Another bad look. Thomas did nada. No checking to see if Emma had survived. No calling 911. Nothing.
Xander wasn’t there, of course, but he’s always — rightly — suspected that Thomas was involved in his old flame’s untimely demise. So perhaps it isn’t a coincidence that when he’s hospitalized, he discovers that doc Finn is connected to the Forresters for whom he used to work. And perhaps it isn’t a coincidence that Xander is resurfacing just as Thomas is thinking that his past misdeeds are so far in the past that no one is holding against them anymore. Are there any coincidences on a soap opera?
