Every weapon has a place, but some are more versatile than others, which is why we’ve put together this list of the top 10 weapons in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. They aren’t ranked in any particular order because each one can benefit someone in their playthrough, regardless of where they are in the story.

Best Weapons in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

10. Pixelizer

The Pixelizer is one of the most visually stunning weapons in the game, even if it’s not the most useful. However, upgrade it to level 5, and it’s a different story. This shotgun blasts enemies and pixelates them. It doesn’t change much in terms of combat, but it is a brilliant effect that allows players to see which enemies they’ve already dealt damage to.

The weapon can be unlocked as a pre-order bonus, but most players will only pick it up through Challenge Mode. Once upgraded enough, The Pixelizer can drop health and ammo, which is incredibly helpful mid-battle and helps players keep fighting when ammo might be getting scarce.

9. Blackhole Storm

Blackhole Storm is a fun minigun that players will need to allow time for spinning up the barrels prior to firing. Once the barrels are whirring and warmed up, the weapon will blast out hundreds of rounds in a very short space of time. It’s fantastic for obliterating clusters of enemies and makes short work of most standard foes.

A nice feature of Blackhole Storm is that players can spin the barrels early without firing, ensuring they’re always ready. We used this a lot when entering big combat arenas or areas we weren’t sure whether we’d be getting into a fight in.

8. Negatron Collider

Negatron Collider might be the coolest weapon in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. It feels amazing to use and on PS5 has some incredible DualSense feedback. It must be charged up slightly before each shot, but those shots project a huge beam of energy that can pass through enemies and deal damage all the way down.

The only negatives to this weapon are that its damage isn’t as high as some fans might like, and the ammo capacity is abysmal. However, it’s unparalleled when dealing damage against enemies that are charging in a rough line. Nothing’s as satisfying as blowing all those aliens away with a colossal energy beam from a tiny weapon.

7. Ryno 8

The Ryno 8 is described as the ultimate weapon by the well-known Ms. Zurkon. Round for round, it plows the most damage into targets in the game, more than anything else players will get their hands on. The only problem is that players don’t get it till late in the game, though it is very helpful in Challenge Mode.

As might be expected, the ammo capacity for Ryno 8 is very small. This means it’s great for dropping on the battlefield so that something is dealing damage to targets besides the main protagonists. We couldn’t do without it past a certain point in the story.

6. Shatterbomb

The Shatterbomb is the first grenade on our list, one that is simple and easy to understand. Once thrown, it explodes on contact with enemies. The damage this tiny projectile deals is huge compared to its size, and it can easily clear a few groups of heavy enemies from the field when thrown in the right places.

The beauty of Shatterbomb is that it can be aimed and locked onto targets to make throws incredibly accurate. Unfortunately, the blast radius is pretty small, so it needs to be very well-aimed to make the most of its damage. As with many weapons in the game, the ammo pool for it is also pretty small, so players need to make each one count.

5. Warmonger

Warmonger is exactly what it looks like. It’s a giant rocket launcher that will shatter enemies thanks to the insane amount of damage it deals. It’s similar to Shatterbomb but has better range, more ammunition, and deals more damage.

Upgrading Warmonger will eventually net players homing rockets, which are little inescapable bullets of death that follow them around the battlefield. Even though its rate of fire is slow, it’s so worth using because even one rocket can stun a boss and open them up for damage from something else.

4. Headhunter

Headhunter is a long-range shooter fan’s dream. It deals high damage with every shot and has superior accuracy, the best in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Players can fire from the hip or from the first person, which is a great view when trying to take out far-off targets.

While the rate of fire is slow, that’s to be expected from a sniper rifle. Headhunter more than makes up for it with the ability to slow time down just before a shot, allowing users to line up the perfect shot every time.

3. Buzz Blades

Buzz Blades have ample ammo and are built to annihilate those bullet-sponge enemies that soak up bullets with their insane health pools. The weapon consists of saw blades that bounce off enemies and surfaces and cut up everything they touch. Every slash deals damage and is infinitely satisfying to watch and feel while playing.

Accuracy is somewhat of an issue with this weapon since it’s effectively a hail mary into the abyss, a hope that some damage is dealt because precision has gone out the window. However, we love using them because they look crazy in a small arena and always push out the damage when it’s most needed.

2. Glove of Doom

Glove of Doom is perfect for when the biggest enemies in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart come out and start a fight. They throw capsules that spawn tiny but very lethal. chomping robots that will tear away at anything nearby they dein unfriendly.

Even if the damage is low compared to the enemy, Glove of Doom is still a great distraction to create some breathing room in a battle. Upgrading them allows players to throw more robots out, increase their damage, and even add an explosion into the mix. These robots last longer than the traditional Mr. Fungi, but they can’t do anything about flying enemies.

1. Enforcer

The final entry in our list is Enforcer, a shotgun that’s pretty much the best in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. It deals tonnes of damage and has two firing modes, one with a single barrel, and one with both barrels. The damage difference between these is what most players would expect, so it’s useful for a wide range of foes.

Once Enforcer is upgraded, it can fire off even more shots, deal increased damage, and carry players through the rest of the story. This is a shotgun fans will get early on in the game, and we recommend using it as much as possible so that increased damage is unlocked earlier and helps keep enemies in line for longer.
