The Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to finalize a deal with senior defensive assistant and secondary coach Teryl Austin to be the team's next defensive coordinator, according to multiple reports.

Austin has spent the last four years with the Black & Gold and would replace former defensive coordinator Keith Butler, who announced his retirement last month.

Steelers' insider Gerry Dulac says the deal is expected to be formally announced later Sunday or Monday.

Austin has previously served as a defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions and the Cincinnati Bengals, and is beginning his 19th season in the NFL.
