State police in Clearfield County say an Ohio woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 80 in Sandy Township.

Troopers say the operator of the motorcycle, a 66-year-old Ravenna, Ohio man, reportedly entered the westbound on-ramp, near the 97 mile marker, when the bike reportedly ran over an unknown oily substance on the highway.

Investigators say the motorcycle then slid along the roadway and was turned onto its side, knocking both the operator and the passenger off, according to the crash report.

Authorities say the operator was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of unknown injuries.

Troopers say the passenger, identified as 56-year-old Debra Philp, also of Ravenna, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene.
