She’s back to the ballroom! Niecy Nash is on Dancing With the Stars again more than a decade after she was last on the dance floor. Nash—an actress and comedian best known for shows like Reno 911, Getting On, Rookie: Feds, and Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story—was a guest judge for “Monster Night” on Dancing With the Stars Season 32.

Dancing With the Stars Season 32—which premiered in September 2023—started with 14 contestants including actress and Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears; Emmy-nominated actor Matt Walsh; super male model Tyson Beckford; and Oscar-winning actress Mira Sorvino. By the time of “Monster Night,” only nine contestants remained including Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix; Grammy-winning singer Jason Mraz; Season 20 Bachelorette Charity Lawson; and Marvel star Xochitl Gomez.

Nash is the second guest judge on Dancing With the Stars Season 32. The first was Good Morning America co-anchor and former NFL star Michael Strahan on “Motown Night.” Unlike Strahan, Nash came to the judges panel with the expertise of a former contestant. Read on for what happened with Niecy Nash on Dancing With the Stars and which season she was on.

Yes! Niecy Nash was a contestant on Dancing With the Stars Season 10, where she was partnered with professional dance Louis van Amstel.  Amstel joined Dancing With the Stars in Season 1 in 2005 and competed on 11 seasons. In an interview with People in 2010, Nash revealed that she wasn’t surprised when she got the call to be on Dancing With the Stars. “It just seemed like the right thing to do,” she said. “I am dancing for redemption. I haven’t put on a leotard since I was put out of my eighth grade dance class. So I’m trying to prove to my old dance teacher that I can do it.”

She also named astronaut Buzz Aldrin as her biggest competition before the season started. “I peeked in on Buzz’s rehearsal,” she said. “He has some hip moves and I don’t know if America is ready for it.” She also listed Jon and Kate Plus 8 alum Kate Gosselin as another strong competitor. “Let me tell you something, it will be the battle of the mothers,” she said.
