Born in Fountain Hill, Hill was a corrections officer with Northampton County for 16 years at the time of his death, family members said. 

Friends and colleagues took to Facebook to memorialize him. 

Hill is survived by his wife Chrystal, and five children, Caylin Markle, Cael Markle, Peyton Markle, Hunter Hill, and Kaleb Hill, according to his obit.

Loved ones on GoFundMe are raising funds on the family's behalf to help them handle end-of-life costs and education expenses. As of Monday, Oct. 23, the effort has raised nearly $3,000. 

A memorial service for Hill was held on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
