Jack Harlow has reportedly been called to testify about his involvement in a deadly shooting that left one man dead on the evening of the 2021 Kentucky Derby.
According to legal docs obtained by AllHipHop, the Kentucky rapper will take the stand to speak about an alleged shootout that transpired at the Vibes Restaurant and Ultra Lounge on May 1, 2021, involving his DJ Ronnie O’Bannon.

The “First Class” rapper’s DJ has been charged with the murder of bartender Kasmira Nash at the aforementioned establishment, and after the event, Harlow took to Instagram to extend his sympathies to Nash’s family.
“My heart is broken by the events that occurred over Derby weekend My heart breaks for Kasmira, her children, and everyone else touched by this tragic death,” Harlow wrote at the time. “My heart breaks for my city, a place that’s been through too much pain already.

“I’ve been in touch with Kasmira’s family during this unimaginably painful time, and I’m grateful to them for keeping the lines of communication open. Nothing can reverse what happened. Too many lives have been changed forever. My life will remain committed to making Louisville a better place.”
The victim’s family filed a lawsuit in December 2021 and listed the restaurant and its owner Allen Evans III as defendants.
O’Bannon turned himself into Louisville authorities after a warrant was issued for his arrest. His bond is set at $500,000 and his attorney Rob Eggert has said he believes his client is innocent.
“Despite the negative portrayal on social media, Ronnie O’Bannon is an excellent person,” Eggert said, noting O’Bannon is a graduate of Male High School and the University of Louisville. “He has worked for years with Jack Harlow and is a prominent DJ in his own right. I’m confident he’ll be exonerated at trial.”

The prosecution has since noted that on August 31, 2020, O’Bannon allegedly shot and killed a different individual.
“Although charges have not yet been filed in that case, it sets a troubling pattern of Mr. O’Bannon going to nightclubs and leaving someone dead behind,” the prosecution wrote in their filing.

In more uplifting Jack Harlow news, the rapper’s Lil Nas X collaboration, “Industry Baby,” has dethroned Drake and Future’s 2020 smash “Life Is Good” as the most streamed song of the 2020s so far.
This also wasn’t the first time Jack Harlow knocked Drake and Future out of their top spot. In May, his Fergie-sampling “First Class” single reclaimed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 from the What a Time to Be Alive duo, who previously held it with their “WAIT FOR U” collaboration with Tems.
