Gates of Atlantis in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a long and arduous series of quests. The AC Odyssey Gates of Atlantis quest is given to you by Pythagoras, and it sends you across Greece in search for artifacts in Boeotia, Messara, Kytera, and Lesbos. Things aren’t remotely that easy, because every single one of those artifacts is hidden behind a quest chain and a boss fight. However, the reward is more than worth your while, and we won’t spoil it here. So, without further ado, here’s our AC Odyssey Gates of Atlantis quest guide, showing you how to get all four artifacts.
The Last Riddle Lore of the Sphinx Boeotia Artifact – Apprentice Amulet Location
To unlock the Lore of the Sphinx quest, you first have to complete the A Family’s Legacy Odyssey quest. Pythagoras will give you a clue as to who to look for. The person you’re after is Gorgias, whom you’ll find in Boeotia. He’s north of the Scorched Rolling Plains area, near the south bank of Lake Kopai. He’s basically hanging around the lair of the Sphinx, which will become important in a minute. Gorgias will then tell you to look for his apprentice to find the Amulet you need.

Your goal is Tomb of Menoikeus, to the southeast of the lair of the Sphinx. You’ll have to kill the lion chilling out there, and get the Amulet Fragment from it. Then, go back to the Sphinx and activate it. From there, you will have to answer three riddles the Sphinx gives you. Stairway to Olympos Kytera Artifact Gates of Atlantis Quest – Where to Find Disk Key?
In order to unlock the Stairway to Olympos chain, specifically the one called Tunnel Vision, you’ll have to first complete the A Family’s Legacy quest, then find Empedokles in Kytehra Town, on Kythera Island. After you rescue him from the stoning, he’ll ask you to get back his clothes, and, more importantly, the disk that is the key to unlock your way to the Cyclops boss. The map we’ve provided below is the location of the beginning of the quest A God Among Men, which starts the quest chain for Empedokles
From there, just follow the steps until Empedokles takes you to the Cyclops’s lair. The game will mark the person wearing his clothes, so finding them shouldn’t be much trouble. Go back to Empedokles and follow where he leads you. The last step of this quest chain is the fight against the Cyclops. We just shot fire arrows at him until he dropped.
Messara Artifact for Gates of Atlantis Of Minotars and Men Quest – How to Get Key?
To unlock the Messara Artifact quest chain, you’ll have to go to Knossos Palace, believe it or not, to the area called Minos’s Legacy. In the south of the ruined palace, you’ll find a chest that you have to loot to start the Of Minotaurs and Men quest chain. A little boy, Ardos, will come and complain about the fact that you’re stealing from him. After a brief chat, he’ll send you on a series of quests, one longer than the last. This is perhaps the most annoying and long-winded quest chain of the bunch. On your way, you’ll also get the key necessary to open the door to the Minotaur’s lair deep in the Labyrinth. Once you kill the Minotaur, you’ll get another artifact for the Gates of Atlantis quest. The screenshots below provide the location of the starting point of the Of Minotaurs and Men chain.
Lesbos Gates of Atlantis Artifact – Where to Start Petrified Valley Quest Chain & Find Spear Key?
The first step to uncovering the Lesbos Gates of Atlantis artifact, or rather, steps, is to complete the previously described Stairway of Olympos quest, and also, you’ll have to discover Petrified Valley on Lesbos. Once all that is done, head over to Lesbos and find the quest called Romancing the Stone Garden, in west Lesbos. You’ll have to rescue a woman named Bryce from an angry mob. After that, talk to her and follow her quests until you reach the doors. She will then send you in search of the Spear Key.
Luckily, you won’t have to search too far. The mercenary you’re looking for is on the other side of Lesbos, east of where you currently are. The game will helpfully mark it for you. After you kill the merc and get the spear, go back to Bryce and she’ll open the door for you. Get ready to face off against the Medusa. This is the fourth artifact you’ll need, which means you can go back to Pythagoras and complete the Gates of Atlantis quest.
