The state superior court has upheld the sentence for a former Blair County wrestling coach convicted of child sex abuse.

Convicted sex offender Ryan Blazier will have to serve 21 to 42 years in prison following this week's ruling.

In October of 2021, Blazier was found guilty of sexually abusing two students while serving as a junior high wresting coach at Bellwood-Antis.

His sentence includes a lifetime registry on the sex offender list and he is required to take sex offender classes in prison.

Last month, Blair County court officials announced that a civil lawsuit involving Blazier is expected to be settled outside of court after the jurors in the case were dismissed.
