Westmoreland County, PA — Authorities in Westmoreland County say a Johnstown man was killed earlier this week in a motorcycle crash on Route 30.
Investigators say the crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Monday along the 3000 block of US Route 30 in Derry Township.
Officials identified the operator of the motorcycle as 39-year-old Shawn Pynos.
Investigators say Pynos was traveling westbound when his motorcycle went off the roadway and into a gravel area.
Officials say Pynos was pronounced dead at the scene, at approximately 4:40 p.m., by the Westmoreland County Deputy Coroner.
Authorities say Pynos suffered blunt force injuries in the crash and noted that he was wearing a helmet at the time.
State police Greensburg are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
