BOSWELL – A Boswell man faces criminal homicide charges, accused of shooting and killing an ex-girlfriend and wounding another man, state police at Somerset said Monday.

Jamie Paul McVicker, 41, also is charged with aggravated assault, possessing instruments of crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

He was arraigned Monday and taken to the Somerset County Prison.

McVicker’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.

Police said that McVicker fatally shot Britteny Kyle with a FFV-Sweden 30.06 caliber rifle during a domestic dispute Sunday night along Rolling Hill Road just after 11 p.m.

Also injured in the incident was Tyrell Ferguson, who said he went with Kyle to her ex-boyfriend’s house to retrieve some items. Ferguson was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown for treatment.

McVicker, who had been arrested for DUI on Feb. 19, was eventually taken into custody by Conemaugh Township police.

Kyle’s body was found behind the house approximately 200 yards away in a wooded area. She was unresponsive and slumped over the wheel in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.

Police said they recovered the rifle involved in the shooting.
