Authorities with the Altoona Police Department say three men are facing charges following a months-long investigation into a fight outside an Altoona-area bar.

Police say on June 4th, officers were dispatched to the area of the Black and Gold Tavern for a report of a "large physical altercation."

Authorities say when officers arrived on scene, two victims, a man and a woman, were found in the parking lot of the Blair County Federal Credit Union with several noticeable injuries, including facial bleeding.

Police say witnesses told officers that the suspects had already fled the scene, and one of the suspect vehicles was later found and a traffic stop was conducted.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle, who turned out to be a witness to the fight, described the altercation as "World War III."

Police say the female passenger of the vehicle told officers that she was attempting to leave the bar when she engaged in an altercation with the female victim.

Police say video surveillance from the credit union showed that a larger altercation had occurred, involving the three male suspects, as well as the female passenger.

Upon further investigation, police were able to identify the three men as 29-year-old Jeremy Fornbacher, 21-year-old Brandon Smida, and 19-year-old Hunter Learn.

Police say the surveillance video showed the three men assaulting the male victim by repeatedly punching and kicking him in the face and head.

Authorities say the female victim attempted to "break up" the fight, at which time she is "attacked" by the other female.

Police say both victims reported suffering broken noses, as well as bruises and swelling to their face and heads.

According to the affidavit, police say the female victim reported ongoing doctor's visits due to "extreme pain" near her spine/neck, and a lingering issue with her right eye.

According to online court records, the three men face various charges including aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.

All three men are out on unsecured bail, court dockets show.
